How to prepare for a pottery class

To make the most of your pottery class, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing, keeping your nails short, and arriving a few minutes early so you can fully enjoy the introduction. Coffee, tea, and books on the art of pottery are available in the studio’s welcoming space. All materials and aprons are provided on site.

Our classes take place in small groups, in a calm and supportive atmosphere, allowing you to explore wheel-throwing or handbuilding at your own pace.

Do I need any prior experience to take a pottery class?

No. Our pottery classes in Montreal welcome both beginners and those wishing to return to or deepen their practice.
What is the difference between wheel-throwing and handbuilding?

Wheel-throwing is done on the potter’s wheel and allows you to create round, symmetrical pieces such as bowls or cups. Handbuilding is done by hand, without a wheel, and offers a more open, expressive approach to exploring form.
Are materials provided during the classes?

Yes. All materials are thoughtfully provided on site, including clay, tools, and aprons. We simply recommend wearing comfortable clothing.
How many participants are there per group?

Our classes are held in small groups of up to six participants, ensuring attentive guidance and a warm, intimate experience. For private sessions, an additional wheel can be made available, allowing us to accommodate up to seven participants for a wheel-throwing workshop.
Do I need to arrive early for a pottery class?

Yes. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to settle in and ease into the experience. You’re welcome to enjoy a coffee or tea and browse our selection of books on the art of ceramics in the studio’s lounge area before the class begins.
